I have been trying to catch up on all your posts since I am a new reader. I really love what you are doing in your line of work and am very fascinated by it. This post was very informative, giving insight into a world of compositions that receives much less attention than it deserves. The more I read about game music and listen to your finely crafted scores, the more interested I become in being a part of this industry. Please, keep on writing more posts like this. Who knows, I may go that direction some day, and I might have you to thank for it.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the signature piece, as well as many other mystery themes out there, owes a lot to Patrick Gowers' score of Sherlock Holmes. I believe we can thank Gowers for equating solo violin to mystery.

Thank you very much for the compliment. That means a lot coming from such a big fan of the Nancy Drew games. And I'm very happy the length of Generic fooled you. :)

I do hope you give the second Dossier game a try when it comes out. The developers have really honed this new style of gameplay which I think will attract some of the people who may still be on the fence about the Dossier series.

I've been a huge fan of the Nancy Drew series since the very first one back in the '90s, and though I don't like the Dossier edition quite as much as the main series, I have to say that the music was one of the very best aspects of the game--it fit perfectly.

In fact, it might just be my favorite soundtrack of any Nancy Drew game. It gave the game a very cinematic feel which really suited the movie backlot setting. I'm amazed that Generic is only 46 seconds!

I really hope you have the chance to score future mysteries in the main series.
