Winter Wonderland – Harry Connick, Jr. sheet music

I spent last week doing something that I’d always wanted to do: transcribing the Harry Connick, Jr. solo piano version of “Winter Wonderland” that he played on the When Harry Met Sally soundtrack. I spent years looking for the sheet music to the piece and finally just decided to do it myself. I finished it today and am happy with the results… seems to be a pretty accurate rendition of his performance.

And now I’m happy to make the sheet music available for everyone. And in the spirit of the season, you can pay what you want! If this is just a passing interest, pay nothing. But if it means a little more, you can pay a little more and I would truly appreciate it. All purchases are quick, safe, and secure via PayPal.

To hear what my transcribed version sounds like (a quick MIDI realization):

Enjoy!

  1. This piece is…intimidating. I can only imagine transcribing the piece with out sheet music. It’s so tension-heavy the only task harder then transcribing it would be composing it. And, I might add, the piano sample you used for the piece is impressive to say the least, as far as midi is concerned. Is that from the EQWL sample library? It has a much more robust quality then even the (semi)high-quality VST samples I have the pleasure of using.

  2. Yep, that’s from the EWQL library. I think it sounds pretty good, too, especially for a very quick MIDI realization.

The transcription did take a fair number of hours. :)

  3. Hey thanks, been looking for this piece for quite awhile. I didn’t see anything to play the midi file though, love to hear it. Am I missing something or is it not there anymore?

  4. Sorry, got it to play, just didn’t work on my mac for some reason. Great job! If I start now I may have this one down by Christmas! lol I’ll send you a little something on paypal for your efforts. Thanks again!

    • Glad you got it to work. And I’m happy you were able to find it. It’s funny, I completed the transcription and ended up getting really sick of the piece. Was planning to learn it for last Christmas but I’m going to let it refresh in my brain a bit and do it next Christmas. It is pretty tough.

And I really appreciate the donation!

  5. I’m VERY impressed. I too have been looking for quite some time for this sheet music. Just recently I heard the song on the radio and I decided to give it one last go. I didn’t quite have enough motivation to try it out on my own.

I take my hat off to you sir. A very good job indeed.

  6. Thanks for this! I forgot about his arrangement for years, and finding your transcription was perfect timing. By way of Paypal, 5 bucks worth of gratitude, too.

    Cheers.

  7. Hey there. I happened across your Blog while looking for the sheet music for this song. THANKS!!! Just out of curiosity, is there any way you could send me this in midi format? I have one of those lighted keyboards, and I’d love to toss this file into it so I can play along and ‘cheat’ a bit. If so, thanks in advance!!

  8. Thank you. This is awesome. I’ve worked on this for years without ever finishing it, but you solved a few mysteries for me. Even with the transcription and playing along with Harry it’s still pretty tough. I too became so engrossed in it that I now need to give it a rest. Thanks for the great job!

  9. Wow! You did a great job! I could figure out the first 5-6 measures and then could never get past those crunchy chords! Did you have something to slow down the sound? I have wanted this transcription for a long time!

  12. Great Job! Do have or know of anyone who has a fairly accurate transcription of Connick’s “Come By ME,” especially with the solo. I would be willing to pay for it, but just can’t find it. Thanks.
